Dear friends,
If I were able to pick up the phone today and place a call to one of the rotary phones that launched this company back on April 1, 1954, to my parents and my company’s founders, Fred, and Betty Edwards, I wonder how I could possibly explain the events of this last year.
I would tell them that their company, my employees, and so many others, overcame several big obstacles, the biggest some of us have faced in living through a global pandemic.
Our team made a rapid and unfamiliar (to us!) transition to remote working, placing the safety of our staff first and foremost, followed closely by the steadfast commitment we feel to our clients and their callers. During a time of tremendous uncertainty, we soldiered onward, procuring new technology and equipment. We overcame the uncertainty of remote onboarding and training new staff, all while running a 24/7 business.
Many of our clients needed new procedures, while many were forced to close their offices for a time. The service needs of our clients evolved and quickly! Through it all, we delivered and strove to maintain professionalism and dependability to the people and businesses that rely on us.
And we’ll keep doing the same.
Sixty-seven years after mom and dad started this business, it continues to exceed our clients’ – and our own – expectations. And I think I would want them to know that – that six decades later, we continue their legacy of helping people, which is why our company was founded.
The Edwards Answering Service team looks back at this last year with a sense of pride for all that we have accomplished and learned and also sorrow for loss we have all faced in one form or another over the last year.
While respecting and acknowledging what we have all been through, we are more importantly looking towards the future by making big investments in our equipment and staff. We are using the knowledge of this very difficult year to push forward and accomplish even more.
Betty and Fred Edwards’ presence are absolutely felt on this 67th anniversary of Edwards Answering Service. I know they’d be proud of this team. I know they’d be beyond grateful for our loyal clients. And I know they’d want us to keep up the good work.
Sincerely, Gary A. Edwards
President, Edwards Answering Service Enterprises
